RENO HI FI is now permanently closed.

Dear Reno Hi Fi clients and friends:
After more than 25 years in business, Reno Hi Fi will soon be closed, and Mark Sammut will retire. We’ve had a great run and I believe our business has truly been win-win for all parties involved. I can’t thank the audiophile community enough for all the good energy and good business over the years.
We are sold out of all inventory and we are not accepting new orders.
Mark remains available for a short while to help customers with recent purchases. We are no longer keeping regular store hours, but we are available by appointment. Mark will check and respond to email and voicemail on weekday mornings.
With the announcement of our store closing in April, all merchandise sold out much faster than we originally expected.
Pass Labs factory will help audiophiles with product information and warranty support and help with locating another dealer for future purchases.
I could not be more appreciative of all that Nelson Pass (The One and Only!) has done for my family business through the decades, with Wayne Colburn; Desmond Harrington; Kent English; and my late father, Joe Sammut; and many other great people. I have been very fortunate to be surrounded by so much talent. With Nelson’s usual kindness, he recently posted that he wished I would keep working. And of course, there would be no Reno Hi Fi without our many thousands of awesome clients—Thank YOU! We’ve had a wonderful time together and now it’s my time to retire in good health and move on to life outside the audio industry.
Early in September 2023, we will be permanently closed. The business itself and its parts, including the customer database, will not be sold nor shared. I’m proud that I’ve always maintained my integrity and kindness. I’m grateful to have helped so many people enjoy the wonderful Hi Fi hobby. I thank you all for trusting me with your business.
In my retirement, I look forward to doing many things which I’ve not had time to do these last 25 years, including: taking long vacations, focusing on regular daily exercise and healthy cooking, practicing the piano, enjoying lunch out with friends… and just enjoying the music.

July 19-20, 2023:
We are rapidly approaching selling out of all inventory. We are not ordering any more product from PASS/First Watt.
All orders placed after July 24, will have a minimum restocking fee of 20%.
Our normal inventory level is about 150 to 175 "boxes" or units of product ready-to-ship (and another 100 units in process of being traded-in, refreshed, in-transit). We are now at about 15 boxes. Our offerings are now essentially limited to "stock on-hand." The website looks like there is more here than there is, as we're down to one and two units of several different models.
Everything is selling faster than we originally expected when we wrote the announcement below.

July 26, 2022: All-New Reno Hi Fi website coming soon.
After 23 years, this website will be retired and a modern website will take its place, while our business model will remain the same as it has since 1998. We had been waiting for a quiet business time to create a new website, but in the last seven years, all we've been is Busy (which is Wonderful!). Now, for technical reasons, this website must be retired as it will soon stop working. Our goal is to have the new website launched around Labor Day weekend.
We are currently building the new website and we've found the platform which will give us what we need to give our clients what they want:
Hourly updates to the website so everyone can see what's In Stock Now and in real time (same as on this website). We're proud that we keep a large inventory, and the new website will clearly show in-stock items which are ready for quick shipping.
A mobile-device-friendly website. A website that will be attractive and informative while less complicated so it will load faster.
As we posted in 1998: "Reno Hi Fi is not a vending machine." We will continue to not have a shopping cart or buy-it-now feature on the website so that we can communicate with our clients, even if it's for just two minutes, to be sure you're ordering exactly what you want and we have the opportunity to answer your questions. We want our audiophile clients to be happy with and well informed about their purchases from Reno Hi Fi.
July 26, 2022: Supply Chain Updates: Good News / Bad News.
Good News: After Labor Day we will have more product inventory (New, Demo and Used) and it will be posted on the new Reno Hi Fi website. Some items will have modestly better pricing than we've had recently. Please stay with us and look forward to some exciting product offerings after Labor Day 2022.
Bad News: The product supply chain seems to remain as bad as it has been, and maybe a little worse. However, all is not lost, Reno Hi Fi continues to order product a year and more in advance and to hold as large an inventory as possible so that our customers' wait time is as short as possible.
November 18, 2021: The worldwide supply chain problems are now causing Reno Hi Fi to have little inventory. Part of our business model is to have large inventories so that we can provide Excellent service to our customers. In the first month after our reopening from the move, we did about three months worth of business and now our inventories are very low. We have more than One Million dollars of product currently on order with PASS; and we have many trade-in's due to us; and we have a good amount of product in the process of shipping and factory refurbishing-- so product will continue to be available, but with less than our usual speed. Because of shortages and long wait time for supplies, our restocking fees will be increased until the supply chain normalizes. We're working hard for you, and by our ordering well in advance, we hope to have the products you want with far less wait-time than what is typical for our industry today.
Early in November 2021, Pass Labs Company announced a modest 5% price increase to be effective January 01, 2022.
October 1, 2021: We are now open as normal, Monday through Friday, accepting new clients.
September 20, 2021: In only about two weeks we'll be open. Hooray! We look forward to helping you very soon.
All is progressing well on our relocation and a picture of our new offices at 2320 West Mission Lane, Suites 4 and 5 is below. We continue on track to reopen October 05 and 06, 2021. Contractors will be working on our new space for the next month.
Telephones are now moved. We have the same phone numbers as always and we're adding a Phoenix number: 602-218-6200.
Thanks again for your patience. We can't wait to get back to our "real" work of helping our wonderful clients! We would much prefer to be helping you rather than only working on moving and business administration.
